NMLSTA Benefits
Ten Great Reasons to Join

1. Increasing the number of people who share common educational interests with you. The benefits from such relationships are endless and can be most gratifying. The feeling of working in isolation will be lessened by becoming a member of this organization.

2. Encouraging you to become involved in the NMLSTA decision-making process by voting for individuals who will promote middle level science education. Joining committees or running for an elected board position will offer opportunities for your opinions to be heard.

3. Receiving the NMLSTA newsletter Level Line delivered electronically four times a year. The newsletter contains the following: activities in general, physical, earth, and life sciences, information regarding summer institutes, information on teacher and program awards, articles pertaining to the association, and inexpensive or useful educational materials.

4. Opportunity to become an author of articles in the Level Line and contribute to the web page.

5. The Association web page filled with useful ideas and opportunities. Check out nmlsta.org.

6. Ice Cream Socials at all NSTA Conferences and be eligible for over $1000 in free gifts given away by the Partners and Friends of NMLSTA.

7. Obtaining invitations to NMLSTA Workshop-Breakfasts and the Middle Level Luncheon held at National NSTA Conferences.

8. Being eligible for the Paul DeHart Hurd Award ($1000) sponsored by Delta Education. Details at nmlsta.org. Deadline to apply is December 15.

9. Having a closer association with NSTA. Our representative to NSTA decision-making meetings permits the voice of middle level teachers to be heard.

10. The benefits for your students because you are involved.
